The length of time to be spent on homework will vary for each student depending on what they are being asked to do and their own areas of strength, but as a guide a year 7 student should be spending 30 minutes on a homework task, year 8 up to 40 minutes and year 9 up to 50 minutes. At Key Stage 4, homework should take up to one hour for each subject.

You should be using your planner to record the homework that is set and when it is due in. To further support you, we subscribe to an online homework diary called Show My Homework. It can be accessed through the link which can be found on the right hand side of this page.

By using the navigation buttons on the top right hand side of the Show My Homework page, you will be able to see further details of the homework task set, by indicating your year group, subject and class name.

There is also an option, on Show My Homework, to register to have a personalised account that gives only the homework set for you and your parents can also register to get this more personalised version.
